Adele

AdeleAdele Mara April 28, 1923 - May 7, 2010) was an American singer, actress and dancer who was a part of films in the 1950s and 1940s, as well as on television during the 1950s and 1960s. With the professional name Adele St. Mara, she won a contract with Columbia Pictures[citation needed] and gained experience working in the studio's "B" feature films as well as comedy shorts. The title was changed to Adele Mara. One of her first roles was that of a receptionist the Three Stooges film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks as well as Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters in the character of Rita Hayworth in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. She is the character Alias Boston Blackie (1942) as the sister of the wrongfully accused and exiled convict. After her Columbia contract ran out in 1942, she moved to Republic Pictures, where she was a regular in their westerns as well as outdoor adventures. She was a part of in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch starring John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima where John Agar is the love interestis played by John Wayne, California Passage and Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
